Newmarket jazz+ Festival
Riverwalk Commons – August 2, 3, 4, 2013
Producers Sher St. Kitts and husband George are pleased to announce the birth of a new festival in York Region: the Newmarket jazz+ Festival featuring local artists and musicians in the heart of Newmarket over the 2013 August civic long weekend.
Newmarket jazz+ Festival will be overseen by non-profit corporation – Arts Music Festivals York Region (“AM-FYR”) and managed by St. Kitts Music Inc. We will work with members of the Newmarket BIA, Downtown Businesses, Creative Community, community organizations, Town staff and Council members to bring it successfully into the community.
Newmarket is a wonderful place to start a new festival in York Region! Newmarket’s long-standing Cultural Master Plan acknowledges the importance of local events featuring music, arts and culture. Newmarket celebrates the arts, culture and local talents:
“…recognizing culture as an important resource in building vibrant, resilient, and sustainable communities…and the numerous benefits of a vibrant community…the Town is dedicated to preserving, investing and expanding its cultural heritage.”
"We continue to receive feedback from our staff relative to the mix of music you sang and played. The feedback we are hearing is that it was the best sales meeting they ever atended. Your band really knows how to ROCK, and they just don't stop..
